Manikmia avenue adorned Alpona marking Bangla New Year 1426

Manikmia Avenue, Dhaka
The unveiling ceremony of “Berger Alponay Baishakh 1426” was held at the capital’s Manik Mia Avenue on Saturday night to welcome the Bangla New Year 1426.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury indurated the drawing of 2 km long graffiti where Dhaka North City Mayor Atiqul Islam was also present as the special guest. The event was presided over by Ex-Cultural Minister Assaduzzaman Noor MP.
The drawing of Alpona (graffiti) continued till the dawn of Sunday, the Pahela Baishakh.
Berger Paints Bangladesh was the Title sponsor, Asiatic EXP organised this year’s graffiti drawing event. More than 300 artists including students and cultural minded people from different parts of the city attended the event at Capital’s Manikmia Avenue. Further, they have arranged similar program at the other 4 biggest cities of the country, such as Chattogram, Sylhet, Khulna and Bogra.
Chattorgram City Mayor A J M Nasir inaugurated the ceremony at Port city Chattogram’s DC Hill area, Mayor Ariful Hoque inaugurated the program at City’s Kean Bridge area, Police Superintendent Mohammad Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan inaugurated the program at Nawab Bari Road of Bogura City and Apurba Kumar Kundu, a Berger Paints official inaugurated the program at Shibbari moor of Khulna Metro.
Among others, Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, Senior GM – Sales and Marketing of Berger Paints Bangladesh, Iresh Zaker, Group Managing Director of Asiatic Experiential Marketing, Rupali Chowdhury, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh and renowned painter Mohammad Moniruzzaman were present.
